Matthew and I went on a productive - albeit brief - trip to Seattle today to try our hands at HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. That means you take several varying exposures, and combine them into one image that gives a more rich range of light and color. Sort of. It's complicated. Anyway, here are my examples.


The mall "police" told us to scram while we were taking pictures at Pacific Place. I've got some literature I think they should read.

My friends were in town. Oh, and they brought my favorite dogs. Meet Zim and Dib.

My cat's favorite toy. She sits next to it when she wants to play. Then she cries. I was testing out the black and white setting on my new (used) Canon 20D.

I got my new-to-me Canon 20D tonight. Since Christmas came a day early to me, here's a Merry Christmas to you, too.

Here's a few shots from a punk show at a local bar. Definitely not my "scene" but it was a lot of fun. The bands play behind a cage, of sorts, so it's a unique atmosphere, but difficult to shoot the bands.
